Christmas at Aker Brygge
Creative Mill was commissioned by Aker Brygge, to develop «Den Magiske Julegrøten» (The Magical Christmas Porridge), a professional holiday performance offered free of charge to the people of Oslo during Desember, every Saturday and Sunday before Christmas.


The show became a major crowd-puller and generated widespread attention in both the press and on social media.
Sustainability is the foundation of Aker Brygge’s nostalgic Christmas concept. Visitors experience installations and content that evoke memories of a warm, traditional holiday season, while also being reminded of the importance of caring for the planet during a consumer-driven time of year.
The Magical Christmas Porridge filled Bryggetorget with families, the main target audience for the
campaign. The result was a 22% increase in revenue for the family-friendly restaurants on week-ends at the destination.
The performance also became the season’s big “talk of the town” on social media, boosting both visibility and engagement—digitally and physically. In addition, the concept received broad media coverage, with features and reports in both national and local outlets, strengthening the destination’s brand across Norway.
The campaign was selected as an honorable runner-up in the category “Marketing Activity of the Year” at Retail Arena 2024.
